ebook Process:The ebook process is often applied to college textbooks so students might pay only $29 for an e-textbook when they might normally pay $150 for the same hardcover version. A college ebook can be purchased to be read on-line only or downloaded, though there's usually nothing stopping a student from copying and pasting the ebook into a Word document on their home pc. If the ebook merchant is savy about programming, he can place a script in his code that prevents a person from copying and pasting.
You might ask, "Will a person really pay for an ebook when they can do a little research and get the info for free?" My answer is: You betcha!
People with visual disabilities use computers. They have what is called a screen reader. Actual books aren't as valuable to them. With a screen reader a blind person can use a computer and "read" an ebook. My site is set up so people with visual disabilities (and a good screen reader) can benefit from it.
Resell rights: You can buy an ebook that includes resell rights. Buying an ebook with resell rights allows you to resell it again and again. This is a good thing, but if someone else has done the work of writing for you, then there may be thousands of other sellers selling the same ebook. What you want is an ebook with original content that hasn't been sold and resold by a thousand other people.
(Tangent here... I once read for a law student at Columbia University. He was blind. It was back in the mid 1980s. PC's hadn't yet come into vogue. The student had a book reader that he placed on each page. The reader would use light to scan the raised surface of the print as it lay on the page, but the technology wasn't that developed back then, so he hired me to read for him. Now with PCs and screen readers, people with visual disabilites can enjoy an ebook and the internet.)
My web site is an on-line business where people can purchase an ebook anywhere from $0.99 for one small e-book to $97.00 for a large batch of them.
My site is optimized for SEO (Search Engine Optimization as per Google's standards). Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a web standard designed to improve a website’s search engine ranking and/or positioning. The major search engines such as Google, MSN, Yahoo, et al make up the greatest percent of search engine traffic on the Internet. Optimizing your site is a common way for people to find others; to find information or companies or potential joint-venture partners, etc. This is accomplished by entering a “keyword” or search term. A keyword (such as ebook) is simply a word that other surfers use when searching for a particular subject.
For instance, a person might type ebook into the search bar. Google will do a search and rank pages according to the keyword popularity of ebook. The surfer will seek information on the keyword or search term and click on the top results. The higher a site ranks for a given keyword or search term, the better its chances of attracting more visitors to that site. I'm can also set up to have Google ads on my web page. If anyone comes to my web site and clicks on a Google ad (just clicks on it!) I get paid.
I'm can get set up with services that pay me just a little per click, and others that pay more per click.
Or, I can set up with an ad service that allows me to place ebook ads within Google's search engine findings. I have to pay for my ad being placed.
Yes, some are scams. Most are legit. Life is like that. My suggestion is that anyone surfing the internet should practice all due diligence when doing so. Affiliate programs for "ebook" aren't the only programs on the Internet. There are affiliate programs for an endless array of topics.
I receive oodles of newsletters about the industry of internet marketing. I may spend the first hour or two each day going back and forth with email marketers and searching out information about a particular ebook. Research is important.
My web site coding is so set up with meta key words so the Google search robots crawl my site periodically for "ebook".
I've worked with an attorney and incorporated (I formed a Limited Liability Company - LLC... this is for tax and legal reasons).
People can't just click on the graphic of an ebook and hope to download it. I use an autoresponder system.
