So Many ebooks; So Little Time.
"You Can Read e-Books®" may help.
From the desk of T.T. K.
ooks, books, books. Can you imagine how many times someone has taken pen in hand and scribbled down the symbols we call words and letters? From the time of the cavemen (and women!) to today's world of cyber script mankind has always wanted to jot down his most intimate thoughts.
Did you know?
-
You don't need words to think?
-
The words you use are separate from the concepts they represent? And yet...
-
Paradoxically, the scope of one's worldview ( any one concept) is dependent upon the length and breadth of one's vocabulary.
Sounds like a contradiction, doesn't it?
Let me explain by way of a simple demonstration:
If I'm trying to explain something to you, the problem at the get go is that I have to depend on a vocabulary to explain my position. Yet there is the concept behind the words - a series of mental projections (pictures in the mind) that by their nature existed prior to any additional mental processes necessary to "explain" the very concept to you. You don't have to know a tree is called "tree" to know that it is something that can provide:
-
Shade
-
Warmth
-
Sustenance, or
-
Pleasure to the eyes
All you have to do is walk up to it and the four concepts listed above will present themselves to you as a result of your own desires.
Still, one's world view is dependent on the scope of one's vocabulary.
For example...
The English language has hundreds of thousands of words in it; people use only a few thousand during a lifetime; an average person uses only a few hundred during the course of any one day! Cleary, the symbols we think with influence and sometimes dictate the content and scope of our thoughts.
Have I planted the seed of desire in you? Is the soil of your mind fertile (Dionysus, save us from becoming too intoxicated with knowledge.)?
So? What gives you pleasure?
I hope you said "reading"! But reading what? Okay, here it comes... I'm going to tangent from the above and give you a choice of actions. There's going to be a test of sorts.
Choices!
Below you will have to make a choice...
One is to read an ebook short story found on the next page., or...
My, my...why should you be faced with such a dilemma?
Because life is full of choices.
When faced with the prospect of working or doing something more pleasurable, or to put it conversely, when given the prospect of receiving pleasure or facing fatigue (this is getting complicated, isn't it)... which will you choose? Just what is it that gives you more pleasure? Reading science fiction or reading about how to make money? Now, the one good thing is that you'll be reading no matter which you choose. No matter which way you go you'll be improving your world view.
Don't leave this page without making a choice.
-
Choose the ebook, or
-
Choose the money-making link, or
-
Choose neither and leave, or...
-
Choose both!
All the best,
Thomas T. Klugh
